What is Façade Testing?

At Australian Facade Hose Testing, we offer three distinct water penetration tests tailored to suit a range of façade systems and project scenarios. Each test helps project teams verify installation quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate long-term moisture risks.

The AAMA 501.2 hose test is used for installed and operable components—such as windows, doors, and storefronts—under simulated wind-driven rain conditions.

ASTM E1105 provides a chamber-based method for evaluating fixed curtain wall assemblies and larger glazing systems under controlled air pressure and water spray, offering repeatable and thorough performance verification.

Complementing this, AAMA 502 is used to field test newly installed fenestration products, often linked to ASTM E1105 for assessing water resistance and air infiltration as part of post-installation quality assurance.

AAMA501.2 Testing

The AAMA 501.2 test is designed for field testing of installed exterior fixed (non operable) wall systems—specifically storefronts, curtain walls, and sloped glazing—to evaluate their resistance to water penetration under simulated wind-driven rain conditions.

AAMA502 Testing

The AAMA 502 test is intended for newly installed operable fenestration products, such as windows, doors, and skylights.

ASTM E1105 Water Infiltration Testing

This test is widely used for field verification of installed fenestration systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and certification standards.

Leak Investigations

Beyond standardised tests, we also conduct tailored leak investigations using a combination of hose testing, thermal imaging, moisture meters, and visual inspection.
